Redefining Heritage

01

The cottage can trace its roots back to 1360. The current building dates from 1552 with later extensions in 1620. Fortunately, it was purchased by the Farnham Building Preservation Trust who approached us for our sensitive approach to buildings within Historic contexts. Our brief was to rescue the building and create a new home from a dilapidated cottage, which had not been updated since the 1950’s and was in desperate need of some TLC.

Alongside the client and working in close collaboration with the Conservation team at Waverley Borough Council, Cooper and Withycombe: Structural Engineers, Harris-Jones and Son: Listed Building specialists, we undertook a year of painstaking and meticulous interrogation of a wonderfully rich building.

Once this study was complete we sought out a considerate Builder to compliment the works. This quest lead to RA Croft of Bentley. Working together we have restored, renovated, conserved and enhanced this once dilapidated cottage into a Home for the 21st Century.
